Hyderabad, Apr 27 (UNI) : The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) celebrated its 23rd its foundation day across the Telangana state on Saturday.
The party was founded as Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) by K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) on April 27, 2001, to fight for the cause of Telangana statehood, was renamed as BRS in 2022 by transforming into a national party.
The celebrations were organized in a big way but restricted to district headquarters only as everyone is busy with party campaigns for the ensuing parliamentary polls.
This is the first foundation day of the party after losing power to Congress in Telangana.
BRS working President and former IT Minister K T Rama Rao (KTR) after hoisting the party flag at Telangana bhavan, the State headquarters of the party here, expressed gratitude to the lakhs of party cadre and Telangana people for their support over the past 24 hours.
He pledged to rededicate themselves to the peop;le Telangana and continue to be their voice.
On Friday, the party working president gave a call to all party cadres to celebrate party formation day at their district party offices and unfurl the party flag.
BRS leader and MLA T Harish Rao, hoisted the party flag at the party office at Siddipet as part of the celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, Harish said that many of the development programmes, including the Rythu Bandhu, the crop investment support scheme introduced by the BRS government in the State, were replicated at the national level.
The party formation day was also celebrated by BRS leaders in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Odisha as well, according to the party.
